I had gone to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam to try and get a shot of it from across the reflecting pool; however it was not to be on this occasion as the area was very busy and full of machinery in preparation for a Nike night run that was taking place.
Standing in front of the iAmsterdam sign I set up my camera to try and get a closer view instead, and as I was stood there taking the first of several long exposures the area around me was being cordoned off; I thought my tripod was going to be used to hold the tape cordon at one stage.
Eventually I managed to get enough images I was happy with to know that I could blend them all together afterwards, some to take care of the sky, others the building without people in them.
I stuck around as it got darker and darker to see the front runners pass and cheer them on, before heading back to the hotel for much deserved sleep.
