The vending machines in Japan are pretty awesome. You can buy ice cream, juice, water, hot or cold coffee, beer and many other things from them.
It’s amazing how you can walk around a place like Kyoto and buy beer regardless of the hour – if these machines were in the UK they would be trashed by kids within a week.
On my first night in Japan I journeyed up from Osaka to Kyoto and took a quick wander around one of the shrine areas. This particular vending machine was glowing out of these bushes, and though I didn’t need anything (having just sampled a hot coffee from an earlier machine), I thought it looked pretty cool.
Hope everyone has had a great bank holiday weekend, unless you’re in one of those countries who don’t have these, in which case I hope you had a nice day at work 🙂
