Jacob the dray horse is a statue commemorating the many dray horses that were stabled in this area when the Courage Brewery was around. Horses such as Jacob had to pull around carts full of beer, and for that we should be grateful.

Jacob is located very close to Tower Bridge in a place called The Circle on Queen Elizabeth Street. It’s a nice quiet road that doesn’t get too much traffic, so you can easily take your time in capturing a shot of this lovely statue.

I often use it as a meeting point if around that area due to the fact it is so quiet compared to the river walkway, More London or Tower Bridge itself.
