It’s that time of year once again, and for some reason this is my favourite of the commercial holidays.
Last night, realising that I didn’t have an image for Halloween, I decided to buy and carve a pumpkin. I didn’t want (nor have the skills) to do something too intricate, so I did a simple smiling jack.
After carving him I stuck in a candle and took a few shots on the kitchen table before putting it into photoshop and running it through the new Perfect Effects 4 from OnOneSoftware. There are a lot of new filters in there, it seems, so had fun playing around with them to see which ones would turn my pumpkin into something nice. I opted for two filters, something like ‘David’ followed by ‘Good Old Blue’ [note – these may not be their real names, I forget].
I really quite like how it turned out, and love the image on a black background.
I hope everyone has a great day, and night, ahead of them.
