It’s good to be back in London, and back in my own bed. Now I have a lot of images to work my way through and process from my trip to Scotland, and a lot of catching up to do with you fine folk and your work – it’s going to be a long week ahead. I hope everyone is okay and were well behaved in my absence.

Before I start posting my landscape shots, I’m opening the week with another UrbEx shot from the former turbine engine research facility. This place really was a pleasure to photograph, the industrial setting gives you some great features and textures to work with.

I wanted to add a bit of sunshine type light to this shot in the processing which is why there is a lot of yellow light introduced. These locations are normally all doom and gloom so it’s nice to have something with a bit of bright colour in it every now and then.

  1. I’ve not been ill-behaved.

Nice shot. That’s all I can say about that really. I don’t have technical gubbins, you know. Heck, I’m still trying to figure out how to use Hipstamatic (so many choices and combinations and there’s only one I reall want!).

  2. Just love the shots you have posted from this place, and this one is no different. It is interesting to see how all the tubes wind through this building, and the rusty goodness is always enjoyable. Very nice to change it up with a nice warm shot.

  3. Love how the gorgeous warm light contrasts with the cool gray/black floor. You can almost feel the vibrations as the light bounces off the metal engines. The lens flare is just icing!
