This was the final shot I took at an old train depot a couple of months ago. I had visited the Camden ‘catacombs’ where we had to leave a little earlier than expected and so this was an impromptu visit, but a nice one all of the same.
To me, this scene could easily be a fire station, with the lovely red doors and a couple of extinguishers laying around.
I didn’t actually take away much colour in this shot, the extinguishers were an off-white colour rather than the usual red ones that you may see. However after processing it looked to me as if there was a drain of life from the lower section of the shot, especially in comparison to the vibrancy of the red on the doors and stairs. I was happy to work with that though, and felt the title reflected what the image shows quite well.
I don’t think I’ll be posting on Saturday and Sunday this week, so this will be the first weekend in a while that I’ve stopped the daily posts. When I was away last week I was able to find the time to pre-process and schedule image releases, something I haven’t had the chance to do for this weekend and I’m not sure I’ll have the time to get a few images out over the next 24 hours. I hope you all have a great weekend, and I’ll see you again on Monday.
Nice shot Mike…I like the touch of green from the moss as well.
Stunning processing!
This is a wonderful image! Love the red in the brick and the railings, as well as the mixture of textures all around! Fantastic!
nice processing on this one Mike – looking forward to your images from the weekend trip!
Thanks for your comments everyone.
