When I was going to Helsinki I knew that I would be spending some of my time wandering around listening to the band named ‘Architecture in Helsinki’…it seemed only fitting.
As such, I also knew that I would want to find a piece of architecture to photograph on my trip, so that an image could use the same name in the title. This is that image.
The architecture you see here is an extract from Temppeliaukio Kirkko, or the ‘Rock Church’. These slits are actually windows taken from an acute angle.
