This is Senate Square in Helsinki, with the lovely cathedral in the background. This image was taken just before midnight and it was still very light it; it never really got dark while I was there.
In fact, I had taken this shot about 45 minutes before, and had done a few other angles and was leaving to go back to the hotel and watch the World Cup when I decided to head up some side steps to the cathedral and take a few more images from different places instead. After working my way around the cathedral I noticed the lights around this statue had come on and so opted to go back to this spot and snap a few more images before finally retiring for beer and football.
