These couple of gates were to be found right beside Hadrian’s Wall. I guess someone decided they didn’t actually need gates to let people through the wall and decided to ditch these due to non-use.
Or maybe not.
It’s more likely they were simply put there by the landowner who replaced them or built a style and decided they were no longer of use.
Either way, a nice photo opportunity.
