Focal falls

This is the second of five images during my week of images that have long exposures of water in them, and is the last photo of this kind that I took on my Northumberland trip. After this shot was taken we headed into a town and spent the rest of the trip looking at several different priories and abbeys.

It’s an odd one, as I opted to focus on the waterfall after setting up with the branch in the foreground. In processing I opted to bring out the branch from the rest of the foreground, which makes it in focus in comparison to the rest of the foreground, but out of focus in comparison to the waterfall itself. The soft focus dominates the rest of that section of the image; I just find it a little odd to look at.

I think I like it though.
