This is The Custom House in Dublin, Ireland.
Standing beside the River Liffey, this building houses the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government – I’ll admit I have no idea what they do.
I walked past this spot on my way up to the Samuel Beckett bridge for sunset on my first night in Dublin, and though I took a few daytime shots it wasn’t too photogenic a building. However, on my way back during blue hour where it was now lit up the scene changed quite a lot and it suddenly became much more appealing to me.
A long exposure on the scene didn’t work out too well with the Liffey ruining the reflection quite a lot, so I admit to making the reflection you see here in Photoshop and blended it in to the original. If you don’t like the fact an image such as this is doctored in such a way, please only look at the top half 🙂
