Southbank

Just a quick post today as I’ve had a hectic weekend, most of it trying to keep up with the goings on in the online poker world after ‘Black Friday’ (so glad not to be a US player at this time).

As such, I dipped into the archives for a set of brackets to develop yesterday and found this shot taken of the Southbank in London sometime earlier this year.

The shot needed quite a bit of editing in two places. Firstly, the neon scrolling sign which is used to advertise things on the theatre was completely blown out and illegible, so I replaced that instead with my site name (alas, my blog is not advertised anywhere on the current London skyline – maybe I should take a banner on my next rooftop urbex?).

Secondly, there was a weird reflection of this sign slap bang in the middle of treeline; for some reason the filter I had in place and the angle I as shooting at managed to do this, so I had to clone it out in post. Leaves are pretty cool to be able to do that with so I don’t think it’s noticeable unless you look really close.

Hope everyone had a nice, and relaxed, weekend.

  1. Nice job, especially adding your link in the photo. If this gets shared elsewhere and people don’t know the story, they’ll think your site is famous! 🙂

  2. Thanks for your comments everyone!

@Kristi ha – a very good point…now I just need the image to spread like wildfire 🙂
